History

Taking cultural heritage as a subject area and researching it from various points of view, such as those of conservation, destruction, experimentation, management and conservation, while also thinking about the deficits that this area has in the society of information, in 2006, the research group ArsMagna designed a project for the construction of the technological platform: ARCONPATRI.

The project began at 2006 with the collaboration of the DIDPATRI (cultural heritage didactics, comprehensive cultural heritage management and new technology) research group, recognized for its expertise in the management cultural heritage involvement and in experimentation in innovative projects in the area of cultural heritage management.

During the four years projected as the project agenda, the work team will explore:

1. The construction of Dihèlia Portal: http://www.dihelia.org

2. The design of a multilingual corporate taxonomy that ensures accessibility to the contents of the Portal.

3. PATRITHESAURUS. The creation of a specialized and multilingual thesaurus on cultural heritage that will manage the thematic taxonomy and the thematic search of the contents.

4. SIDPATRI. The implementation of 5 data bases for digitalizing cultural heritage and for the gaining access to sources and specialized resources.

5. Integrated multi-linguism in the management of digital contents..

6. The design of a battery of services centred on the exchange of information and the personalization of users.

7. The creation of the digital journal Dihèlia Journal specialized in all the dimensions of cultural heritage from the perspective of human and social sciences, and information technology.

To do all of this, ARCONPATRI proposes the creation of an information network from the human and social sciences framework that guarantees accessibility to the quality digital contents of this subject area to students, teachers, researchers, and users in general who are interested in cultural heritage.
